About DogAnxiety.co
Calm dog, happy home — that's the whole mission.
DogAnxiety.co exists because canine anxiety is one of the most misunderstood health topics for pet parents. It's routinely dismissed as "bad behavior" when it's really a treatable medical and behavioral issue — and the dog is the one paying the price.
What we publish
Every article on this site is a practical, step-by-step guide for a specific anxiety situation: separation, thunderstorms, car rides, vet visits, new environments, fireworks, and more. We cover desensitization, counter-conditioning, environmental changes, vet options, and natural supports like CBD.
We don't sell anything. When a reviewed product genuinely helps — like CBD for noise phobia or thunder shirts for storm-reactive dogs — we link out to bestcbdforpets.com, our partner site that independently reviews the top CBD brands for pets.
How we research
- Peer-reviewed veterinary research (Cornell, Colorado State, Baylor, and others)
- Certified applied animal behaviorists and veterinary behaviorists
- Published case studies and controlled trials
- Owner communities — because people who live with anxious dogs know things the studies haven't caught up to yet
Who we are
A small team of dog owners, writers, and one exceptionally anxious rescue named Biscuit. We publish guides we wish we'd had when we started navigating our own dogs' anxiety.
Not a substitute for your vet
Everything on this site is informational. Canine anxiety can mask underlying medical issues — pain, cognitive decline, thyroid problems, and more — so we always recommend starting with a veterinary exam before trying new protocols.
